Quilled Floral Frame
Hi All,
Here I am with my newest blog with a simple step by step tutorial on creating a simple floral frame.
Here are some photo references of my WIP along with my notes -
The first type of flower is created with two shades of yellow paper. All the strips in the work are made with 5mm strips. Two strips of yellow are rolled and squeezed at both edges after loosening the coil. Further, they are adjoined and wrapped by a darker shade of yellow.
The stamen is created by a tight coil wrapped in a metallic brown fringed strips. In order to give an enhanced 3d look to the flower, it is placed in a mould, with enough depth. A bottle cap with enough size would do the trick.Let it dry and stick.
White flowers are made with tight coils squeezed to teardrop shape. They are given a slight push from beneath and glue is applied to give a projected look.
The red buds are nothing but tight coils squeezed to an oval shape.
The leaves are made with the same technique as the yellow flower petals.
Arranging them beautifully on the cardstock/mount-board will do the job.
